Sometimes I really do think we share a brain! Yes on all points! I’ve already started doing this—read my post “Substack is great but…” if you haven’t already. (Oh, you already did! 👍🏼)

I’ve seen a few people ask here and there how exactly they can get away from it all, so I thought it would be best to share the advice that I’ve learned. I hope it can help at least one to get away from it all. We weren’t meant to bear so much.

Great article, and painfully relatable. I might try (some of) the steps, but I'm NOT getting rid of gps, because I'm truly the worst in orientation and gps has saved my life!

Thank you 🤠

Some is already a great step forward! I hope they allow you to enjoy your Lent.

No phone at bed and in the morning has already helped a lot.

The addiction and dependence to technology, or just the internet in general, is something I've been aware of for a long time. And because I'm on a computer all day for work, I decided to not have a smart phone as my primary phone. (I do have one that was gifted to me, but I use it for international travel).

Its very freeing not to be glued to a blue screen all the time and even on weekends, unless absolutely necessary, I avoid my computer at home. A break is needed.

I’m glad to hear. My grandfather recently got addicted to his new smartphone, so I thought to myself, surely we must get serious about this, helping those that need it.

Very true. I think Lent is a good way for people to manage their dependence on their smartphone. I mean I don’t if I can say anything, its been a long time since I’ve done Lent. Not since nearly dying when I gave up potatoes.
